Basics
Our Group Family Camp at Glenrock Scout Camp (Newcastle) will be held over the weekend of 13th to 15th of November 2026 (Friday to Sunday). The camp is open to all Joeys, Cubs, Scouts, Vennies and their families.
This camp is being held during the school term, which is different from previous years. We will also have access to the larger hall and kitchen this year.
You can travel up Friday night or Saturday morning. We will be finishing up about 2pm on Sunday. Dinner will be provided on Friday evening at approximately 6:30 pm.
We have tried to keep the costs as low as possible. The costs include all food. If you need to bring your own food due to dietary requirements, please let me know and we can discuss an adjustment to the camp fees.
Activities
We are looking forward to getting all our Scouting families together to get to know each other better by sharing a wonderful weekend together. We have a few activities planned for the weekend including; giant slip and slide, canoeing, bushwalking, playing on the beach, campfires and perhaps a trivia quiz. However, please do not feel the need to join in if you would rather just relax and do your own thing.
Camping
If you are camping then the cost is $50 per head for the weekend which includes camping fees for the meals (same price for 1 or 2 nights). In order to help larger families the maximum costs for any one family is capped at $220. If you don’t have your own tent and would like to camp just let us know – you are free to borrow any of our camping equipment from the hall.
Dorms
This year we also have the option for families to stay in the dorms (2x 12-person dorms and 8x 6-person dorms). You don’t have to fill a dorm room so you can have 4 people in a 6-person dorm. These have mattresses but you need to bring your own sleeping bag and pillow. Rooms will be allocated on a first come, first serve basis. There is an additional cost for the dorms which takes the fees for the weekend to $70 per head. Again, to support larger families, fees for the dorm are capped at $300 per family.

When do Registrations Close?
Registrations are open now and will close on the 1st November. Early registration means you won’t miss out!
Adults attending need to also register with scouts
Remember …… it is Scouts policy that all adults who attend an overnight activity must be registered with Scouts NSW. This is another way of ensuring the safety of all children. This does not cost anything, nor does it make you a leader, but it does keep our activity legal and our children safe.
To register with Scouts NSW as an Adult Helper. Go to our group’s page https://2nd-3rd-pennant-hills.group.scoutsnsw.com.au/ and select Register as a member>Full Member>New Adult Helper. Fill out your details and you’re done.
